GROUNDED!

Justin and I have been spending some time with my Dad and Judy in Washington. It has been so fun to visit them and today we had the unexpected experience of a life time. My dad just recently bought a new boat and he is SO proud of it. Judy told me that sometimes she can't find my dad in the house, looks outside the window, and finds him sitting in his new boat in the drivers seat. They have taken the boat out a few times before, but today was the first time for Justin and I.

Here is Justin and Judy. Judy is not too fond of boating because she says that she is just a "midwest girl" and so before we even left the dock she had her life jacket on.

This is the boat after we had been out for about an hour. Dad got the boat a little too close to shore and we became grounded. At first it was a really scary experience! The propeller got totally torn up and the worst part was that it was low tide! We had to sit there for about 5 hour for the tide to come back up and another boat to tug us out.

Justin was brave enough to jump in the ocean and get some pictures.

Poor dad's boat! The bottom now has a hole too. Needless to say today was full of a lot of sitting and cussing!

Oh, I bet dad was mad! He has been working so hard to get it ready for you guys. We went on the maiden voyage with them and that was scary but to actually ground it, not cool. Why was he so close? Didn't he have his little tracker thing on that tells him how deep it is? When we went the boat felt like it was going to flip over to one side. Judy was freaked out to say the least and demanded a life jacket NOW. I bet she wore that life jacket to the marina and all the way home.

Another fun adventure, huh? Hopefully it won't cost too much to fix it. Unfortunately, my dad has had that happen before - he ran over a house in American Falls Resevoir.
